“To cook is to care”
Joan Roca, El Celler de Can Roca
Stay invisible in the kitchen, cooking behind closed doors? The future of the food industry can’t and won’t look like that! Will Guidara, René Redzepi, Ferran Adrià, Joan Roca and Massimo Bottura are all agreed. The individual approaches of these five top chefs might be different, but they all share the same vision: a good chef has to be a pioneer, seeking to change society for the better. They should want to push the boundaries – not just in terms of food, but also in terms of mind-set. And they have to be willing to teach – not just the next generation of chefs, but everyone – so that our knowledge and awareness of nature isn’t lost.
The five masters of fine cuisine outlined how that can be achieved at the 15th anniversary celebration of “The World’s 50 Best Restaurants”. And they were all certain of one thing: the best is yet to come!
